Flare's Annual Production is our largest and most highly anticipated event of the year. Every year, our Production brings together styles and dancers from a diverse range of backgrounds to perform as one on the same stage.
On each of the three nights of performance, we will present to you a collection of stories that we, the members of Flare, hold close to our hearts and that, hopefully, once those curtains close, you will, too.
Flare Dance Ensemble 2017 presents “Unspoken”, a collection of dance items inspired by the power of words.
Beyond its dictionary definition, a single word can hold many different meanings and interpretations, evoking various emotions and thoughts, all of which are usually left unsaid.
From Ballet to Bollywood, Breaking to Contemporary, Urban and more, join us as we bring these hidden stories to life through the language that we know best — dance!
As we have previously done, this year we will also be organising a charity raffle! The proceeds will once again be donated to e.motion21, a non-profit organisation that provides Australian-first, innovative dance and fitness programs for children and young adults with Down syndrome.
You can buy your raffles at the door or at our booth over the next couple weeks (booth times provided above). You'll be supporting a great organisation as well as going into the draw to win some cool prizes so don't miss out!
If you'd like more information about who e.motion21 are and what they do, you can visit their website at:
For our members/potential members, if you'd like to get involved as a dancer (highly recommended for a wholesome Flare experience), look out for [OPEN PROD] classes on our Timetable and make sure you're available to attend the [CASTING] class (as well as all subsequent rehearsals if you make it into the cast).
Even if you have minimal dance experience, don't be intimidated; just give it a shot! Production classes generally open up a few weeks into Semester 1 (and sometimes re-open in Semester 2), so make sure you're ready to jump right into it at the start of semester!
Check out our Class Information page for more information about how casting/classes/rehearsals will run.
