Seeing that production is only 15 days away, it's time to introduce the choreographers that have worked every week since April with a select cast to create the best performance. This begins the countdown to Ascendance, so first up we have Adinda!
I started off as a modern dance dancer in university dance club in 2008 and since then, performing on stage has become a real passion for me. Therefore, I decided to have myself professionally trained in 2010 at a dance studio in Jakarta, Gigi Art of Dance.
During 5 years of being a student there, I was fully trained in Contemporary Jazz, Broadway Jazz, and technique class. I also have accomplished CSTD examination in Modern Jazz 1 & 2 (Honours predicate) and Contemporary level 1 (Highly Commended predicate). Over the years, my passion for choreography escalated through learning choreographic tools that are taught in technique class. As a result, I won the “Best Concept” award in Choreography Night competition held by Gigi Art of Dance.
Aside from being a student, dance has given me a lot of opportunities, such as performing in Miss World 2013 as the opening act, promoting Indonesia’s culture in USA & Philippines, and various events in Jakarta just to name a few.
To me, dance has a way of liberating myself from any kind of boundaries. It has shown me what it is like to be alive and on top of the world.
There is nothing that could compare to the feeling of stepping on stage, dancing my heart out, and being applauded for doing what I love.
