Publicity Officer, 2014
Continuing our run of Ex-Presidents, our next choreographer, Naomi Wo, definitely likes the odd flash of abs during production. Don't be tricked by her quirkiness though, if you're ever late to production rehearsal, be ready to strengthen those arms with some push ups.
Why hello there! I'm sure you're just itching to learn some fun facts about me. Naomi. Here goes...
Dance has always been quite a significant part of my life. I've gone through countless numbers of ballet, jazz and tap shoes and have a wardrobe full of past dance costumes that no longer fit me.
In 2013, I somehow found myself dancing with Flare, attempting genres I'd never tried before (um, is urban even a dance style? What's the difference between breaking and break dancing?). The creativity and passion of the dancers in Flare motivated me to challenge myself as a dancer, choreographer and everything in between. I joined the committee as the publicity officer in my second year and then proceeded to take on the role as president in 2015 #2015commbestcomm
This year marks my 4th year in Flare (still young compared to the dinosaurs), where I present my second production piece. Have fun vomiting rainbows while watching my lyrical piece.
Check out her beginner Lyrical Project here and remember to get your tickets for production here. Only 4 more days to go!
Our AGM is this Sunday. Wanna contribute to the organisation behind Flare and join the Committee? Curious about the behind-the-scenes of your Flaremily? Craving some free snacks? See you at the meeting!
