Good news! Our O-Week performances from last week are up and ready to be enjoyed all over again. So, if you didn't get to see our performance during O-Week or you saw it, but just wanted to relive those awesome ten minutes, go check it out below! Hello! We've got a new performance class video for you all. This time a Contemporary Fusion piece choreographed by Jonathan Xian. Contrasting to our previous urban pieces, this one takes us on a much more emotional journey, so sit back, relax and enjoy the ride! Welcome Week is almost upon us! For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a whole week of FREE Flare dance classes taught by some of our very talented Flarians, no membership required. This is a great opportunity for those who are still unsure or just curious to come along and check out what Flare is all about. Of course, these classes aren't just restricted to the unsure and curious; EVERYONE is welcome to come, so bring your friends along too! We do cater for a range of skill levels from beginner to intermediate, so even if you've never danced a step in your life, don't be afraid to just come and give it a shot.
Classes will be held at Jason Coleman's Ministry of Dance (MOD) on the weekdays and Dance Factory on the weekend. For directions, refer to our Venues page. But, if you think you have a terrible sense of direction, not to worry because we will have committee members posted at the relevant stops/stations to escort you to the venues (read further below for details). They will be there 45 minutes prior to class start and will be leaving 30 minutes prior to class start, so try not to be late! But, we know sometimes lateness just happens (delays, sleep-ins, etc.) so we will also be leaving behind a committee member or two to help direct and escort any latecomers. So, summarising the important stuff:
And for some final notes:
Refer to our FAQ page if you still have any questions. ![]() O-Week is just around the corner, so start looking forward to two days of amazing performances and Flarians getting all up in your face about joining (sorry, they can't help it). But before we get into the details, we'd like to wish everyone a Happy New [Flare] Year. "Welcome back" to our old members and a "nice to meet you/hope to see you soon/welcome to the club" to all our potentially new members! Now, onto the details...As always, we'll be having our special early-bird deal on membership for all those who sign-up at our stall during O-Week. So that's:
Throughout those two days, we'll be putting on a total of 6 performances around Uni just to showcase a little of what we do and we invite everyone (really, everyone, including all your family, friends and dog) to come down and check it out. Locations and times are outlined in the image attached to this post, but in case that doesn't show up, we'll also note down the performance times and locations below:
If you would like some more information about Flare membership, you can visit the Membership page. But apart from that, we look forward to seeing you all at O-Week!
To start off the year, we present the second of our performance classes! This was taught, learnt, practised and filmed over a period of two weeks during the Summer Semester (February) and showcases another Urban-styled choreography. This time, we have choreography by Simon Li to Tank's So Cold, featuring Simon Li himself plus a lot of other Flarians. Go check it out below! |
