What Is Flare?
The Melbourne University Flare Dance Ensemble is a student-run dance group which aim is to provide a platform of opportunities for university students to indulge themselves in the many expressions of dance.
This includes the opportunity to learn, teach, choreograph and perform dance pieces of several styles. Jazz, hip-hop, ballet, contemporary and ethnic dances are the common styles that we use. However, we are always open to new horizons and constantly strifing to develop new styles.
Every year, we perform at the hottest nightclubs and events around Melbourne. We also hold an annual production every year around October at the university's theatre to showcase the talent of our members.
If you've got the heat, take it to the floor. We look forward to performing with you.
